First Birthday Sessions
No other birthday is as special as that very first one! It is one of my favorite times to capture your baby's personality. I have two options for birthday sessions.
We can do a full birthday celebration, which includes portraits of your baby in whatever outfit(s) you would like (from full on birthday outfits to a basic white onesie). We then move to the cake smash portion of the session, where your little one will be able to play with, smash and eat his/her own cake! I do highly recommend that you have your baby try cake before this session, as sometimes the texture and flavor is not appealing to all. Then we finish up the session with a splashy, fun bubble bath. ALL of my babies have loved this part of the session, and it is sure to bring out lots of giggles and smiles.
If you aren't looking for a cake smash/splash session, I offer a regular first birthday session as well. This session includes portraits of your baby in the outfit(s) of your choosing (again, from full on birthday outfits to a basic white onesie).
I'll work with you to design the perfect session for you and your baby. Here are a few ideas from past sessions:
Simple baby session, with white props and backdrops. We can add in white or colored balloons. This was a regular birthday session, with no cake smash/splash portion.
A white/blue setup with some pennant garland and balloons. This was a full cake smash/splash birthday celebration session. I have some cake smash outfits to choose from, and always offer the option of trading an outfit that you have purchased for a print credit if you find an outfit that you would like for your session.
We did a boho-floral theme for this session. The tee pee here could be decorated to accompany a variety of looks, from floral and girly to a lumberjack or camping theme.
For this session, I created a balloon garland to use as the backdrop. Balloon garlands can accompany any theme and color. I encourage you to bring along any props that you would like to include, such as this football, favorite stuffed animals, books, etc.
This "Wild One" theme was super cute and fun! Baby wore a wild one outfit as well. For this session, the parents preferred not to share images online, which is totally fine! I do share many images from sessions, but always respect the parents wishes when it comes to sharing.
This was another very simple session, leaving the focus on baby. We started with first birthday photos on the tan backdrop, then moved to the white for a few, and then onto the cake smash and bath. These simple sessions are timeless, and I love how all of the focus is on baby.
This little cutie's birthday falls around Easter time, so mom wanted an Easter theme. Together with her gorgeous blue eyes and porcelain skin, the colors all worked together so well!
